Headteacher's welcome
Welcome to St Johns Church School, I hope that our website gives you a glimpse into the exciting journey of learning that we all undertake each and every day.
We are a place of distinctive excellence, where we value all in our community as individuals and God’s children.
It is a rare privilege to educate your children and one that we take very seriously, uncovering and nurturing the talents of your children is both a passion and a vocation.
Our school is an exciting and vibrant place to belong and grow. Our staff are dynamic and innovative, they think very carefully about the building blocks to successful learning and design learning experiences that focus on individual pupils and their needs.
We are all unique and yet we share the same goal, parent, teacher, lunchtime supervisor and cleaner, we want your child to be part of the community, add to it, make a difference to it and make life better for all around them.
To do this we aim to foster confidence, perseverance, tolerance and integrity; to enhance communication skills; to embrace creativity; to encourage teamwork; and to promote an open-minded and outward-looking mentality.
We want our children to use all they have learnt academically, spiritually and morally and make us all proud.
Colette Firth
Executive Head
Our school community, and the values they hold and live each and every day, are what makes St. John’s such a special place of excellence. We are a community of learners – it’s not just the children who learn here! Our staff are constantly learning how to be more efficient, more effective and have greater impact, whether they work in the office, kitchen, around the site or in classrooms. We ‘grow’ excellent teachers here, who we train to be future school leaders – new teachers learn from experienced teachers and with such a wide range of teaching styles and diverse thinking, everyone can find a place to belong.
As a self-confessed, ‘lifelong learner’, I love being part of the St. John’s community and continuously find inspiration from our children, families and staff to keep achieving, learning and growing. We are all on a ‘learning journey’ here, and look to find joy in every step!
