Anglo-Saxon immersion day

This week, Year 4 had an Anglo-Saxon immersion day. During the day, the children had the opporunity to learn about what they:

  • Family life

  • Being a warrior (including being part of an Anglo-Saxon army).

  • What they wore

  • What they ate

  • Games they played

  • And numerous other things.

The children were amazed by the life of an Anglo-Saxon and the way that they had to live. Would you believe that they had ways of dying clothes to show how wealthy they were? The experience has helped the children to embed their learning and deepen their understanding of the life of an Anglo-Saxon.

My favourite part was when we were able to go around the school screaming and shouting in the most terrifying way. Just ask the other children how scary we were.
