Awesome Antarctica

Writer's picture: Simon HollingsworthSimon Hollingsworth

This week, we have been learning about Antarctica, linking it to our story 'Lost and Found'. We have looked at maps and globes and located Antarctica on them, we have started to learn about our significant person - Ernest Shackleton who went to explore Antarctica and have thought about the adversity he would have faced in such a cold climate! In maths this week we have been learning about weight - exploring heavy and light and using the balance scales to predict and then test to find out the heaviest or lightest items from around the classroom. We also discovered that when the scales balance this means the items both weigh the same! How exciting.
